How it Works

Members: New Builders and Champions are onboarded every season. We release an application about 3 weeks before the new season starts. Once members are chosen, they read our documentation, join a working group, and attend an onboarding call. For season 3, we are working on a “bootcamp” for our new Builders to participate in at the start of every season. This will be an intensive 3-week introduction to web3.

Friends of the DAO: When someone joins our Discord they can open a ticket and become a friend of the DAO. We have an onboarding coordinator that has onboarding meetings with anyone who wants.

Why We Created This

A smooth onboarding process is essential to member retention.

Learnings

Members: We continue to make many iterations to onboarding. Onboarding is especially important for our work in helping non-web3-natives join a DAO. It is easy for these individuals to feel overwhelmed, so it is our responsibility to help them as much as possible.

Friends of the DAO: This is a new process for us. We realized it was worth the investment to meet individuals who are interested in the DAO. This process has already helped us identify new members and opportunities.
